windows - walnut with colours

This is second of our Window mirrors, constructed and hand finished in solid black walnut with painted details. As with the first Window mirror, the minimalist design and colours reference the work of American artist Ellsworth Kelly (1923 - 2015), who made a series of paintings based on windows he had seen in Paris between 1949 and 1950.

The top section has four reverse painted glass panels in blue, orange, green and pink. In contrast the base has horizontal stripes in green, blue, yellow and purple. These act as a visual balance to the top, while also recalling the use of stripes by contemporary artists - Riley, Richter and Nolan are three examples among many.

The central section is a tray frame with a 4mm silvered glass panel with polished edges. This appears to float within the tray, the interior of which is coated with graphite. There is a 5mm gap between the mirror and the frame edge. The mirror frame has an integral split batten on the reverse of the top section for easy, flush and secure wall mounting.

Size: 1205 x 540 x 25mm. Weight 8kg. Not suitable for areas with high condensation.

Price: £1,950.00 inclusive. We can deliver at cost to any part of the UK mainland - contact us for a quotation.
