This mirror is the first of our Windows series. It is unique and features the four symbolic alchemical colours - black, white, yellow and red. The minimalist design and painted glass colours reference the work of Ellsworth Kelly (1923 - 2015) while those of the frame recall Mark Rothko (1903 - 1970).
The frame features six colours, all from the Farrow & Ball range: Studio Green, Stiffkey Blue, Downpipe, Pelt, Brinjal and Railings. A mirror with polished edges floats within the central tray section, the interior of which is coated with graphite. This unique mirror has an integral split batten at the top of the frame for secure, flush, mounting to the wall.
The frame is dated, stamped and signed on the reverse. The first image in the slide show features the mirror displayed with two screen prints by Barbra Rae, RA.
