quadrant no.2
The Quadrants are series of mirrors inspired by the artist and designer Max Bill (1908 - 1994) who studied at the Bauhaus under Klee and Kandinsky. Each piece consists of a 4mm mirrored glass panel with polished edges. This is mounted in a hand finished, natural American white oak frame with a minimal 5mm face. Each mirror is complimented by four hand painted panels in artist's acrylic.
Quadrant No.2 uses five colours in artist's acrylic; black, orange, yellow, purple and green. The pattern and colours vary with each individual mirror and they are unique to that particular piece. The back of the frame is fitted with split battens on all four sides for easy wall mounting. This also enables the mirror to be rotated - it can be displayed as a diamond or square and changed as desired. The mirror is unique and is stamped and signed on the reverse.
