N2 mirror
 (red on oak + orange)

This mirror is a variant of a commission we made for a study in a Clerkenwell flat. The N1 mirror was white poplar with graphite, this version is red strips on a solid oak tray frame with an orange interior. The mirror retains the spiral formation of the first, but here we made the strips narrower - 6 x 6mm. The gap around the floated 4mm mirror with polished edges has also changed, here it is wider at 15mm.  Both the commission and this version are inspired by the work of Donald Judd (1928 - 1994) who used panels with thin strips in his wall sculptures.

We used Farrow & Ball colours on this mirror. The red strips are Incarnadine and the orange interior is painted with Charlotte's Locks. The mirror has integral split battens on all four sides, enabling the mirror to be displayed in either landscape or portrait. With this mirror the battens are raised slightly so the mirror frame appears to float on the wall.

This mirror is unique, the frame is stamped and signed on the reverse.

Size: 860 x 560 x 45mm. Weight: 8kg. Not suitable for areas with high condensation.

Price: £1,550.00 inclusive. We can deliver at cost to any part of the UK mainland - contact us for a quotation.
