gold quadrant no.1
The Quadrant mirrors are an ongoing series of unique pieces inspired by the artist and designer Max Bill (1908 - 1994).
Gold Quadrant No.1. is our first variation utilising a gold tinted 4mm mirror panel. The mirrored glass has polished edges and is set in a hand tinted solid ash frame with a minimal 5mm face. The green/grey tint, which is specific to this mirror frame, was achieved by layering coats of dye and tinted wax. The gold mirror is surrounded by four hand painted panels in artist's acrylic.
This composition uses two colours - pink and orange. The colours on each panel was hand mixed individually, four pink tones and four in orange. The reverse of the frame is fitted with split battens on all four sides for easy wall mounting. The battens also enable the mirror to be rotated - it can be displayed as a diamond or square and easily changed as desired. This mirror is unique and is stamped and signed on the reverse.
