frame I (after Mangold)
A unique art inspired mirror referencing the American contemporary abstract artist Robert Mangold (b.1937), specifically his 'Frame' paintings made between 1983/85. This mirror is now in a private collection.
An asymmetric frame was constructed in poplar wood and board, then hand painted in four colours using artists acrylic.
The 5mm bronze tinted mirror glass, with polished edges, is set within the frame. The mirror is signed, dated and stamped on the reverse. The back of frame was fitted with an integral split batten for easy, flush and secure wall mounting.
