chair mirror for an arts & crafts vase
A unique design for a specific object - an Arts & Crafts vase from around 1920. The basic design of a shelf mirror has been transformed into a little chair. The chair, with its high back and short legs, was inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and is made from hand painted poplar and natural oak.

The paint is from the Farrow & Ball range: Hague Blue is the main colour, Studio Green was used on the oak 'cushion' and Calk Green and Charlotte's Locks for the underside detailing. The 'cushion' is a small oak frame, painted on the sides and glazed with 4mm glass. It contains a piece of vintage striped deckchair fabric. The frame can be detached and opened so that the fabric can be changed if desired.

The chair mirror frame is fitted with an integral split batten at the top to ensure stable, flush hanging on the wall. The chair mirror can also be displayed free standing. The dimensions are 750 x 215 x 165mm and it weighs 2kg. It is stamped, signed and dated on the reverse.

We enjoy unusual commissions, this design was developed from our clients suggestion. We would be happy to discuss further mirror ideas  - use the contact form to let us know your thoughts.
