after albers III
An ongoing series of mirrors referencing the work of Josef Albers (1888 - 1976), specifically his Homage to the Square.
This third version is a free interpretation using a vibrant yellow and a blue grey. A silver mirror is set within two nested squares, hand painted on board with Liquitex acrylic. The paint has been applied with a palette knife, using the same technique as Albers himself.
The mirrored panel is framed in poplar wood, hand painted using Cromarty from Farrow & Ball. The mirror has polished edges and measures 300 x 300mm in size. On the reverse of the frame is an integral split batten enabling the work to hang both securely and flush to the wall. This mirror is unique, and is signed and dated on the reverse.
Size: 550 x 550 x 19mm. Weight 2kg. Price: £850.00
